RFID registration plates

PostPost by: type36lotus » Tue Jul 06, 2004 12:33 am

WOW. You folks in the UK are going to be a lot closer to big
brother in the not so distant future!

RFID in your registration plates. Pickups in a few strategic
locations and both travel route AND SPEED can be determined. Manned
speed control is now very obsolete as is photo recording of traffic
violations.

Now you are begining to realise the true horror of driving in the UK.
Poorly maintained roads, highest petrol costs, speed ramps, permanent
congestion .......

There is already a system in place and active that records your
registration plate as you pass along most major roads. If you want to
continue with the Big Brother theme how about the personal tracking
devices most of us carry - your cell phone. Then there are all the
cameras at petrol stations, shopping malls....... There is no such thing
as privacy any more unless you want to go and live in the hills and mary
your cousin ;-)

Firstly, I don't have a cousin called Mary and secondly, be careful not to insult Gareth Flanagan (he lives in Buxton).

in Norfolk but there are a lot of cousins called mary ;-)

My sister has lived in Norfolk for 15 years (true) and I refer to her as "the hill-billy", they have all gone native.

Hello Eric, nice to hear from you again! My attempt at subtle
British-type self depreciating humour - at least you caught the joke.

With all good wishes

Buxton? I thought he was referring to the USA. Here in
Massachusetts, you can now marry your cousin, but only if he or she
is of the same gender as yourself. :-)
