Got me thinking also. My car is a long way from running again, but I think
I will add a new steering wheel to the list. The old one can hang on the
wall :)

I think I spelled it correct this time.

But; was he wearing a seat belt? I hear 50% of Americans are still not
required to wear them. Despite the obvious benefits, it still took
legislation to persuade the Brits. to belt up.

Snaps very readily - Had it happen to me. There is one screw thru the
backside of each spoke into the wood. Buggars really rake you as your
arms go by. George

Both occupants of the car were, indeed, belted (lap belts only) and both
walked away--albeit somewhat slowly. Fibreglass absorbs energy nicely, but
sacrifices itself in the process. If the car had been steel, I think the
outcome would not have been quite as good.

Well, based on the response to my original inquiry I'd say there isn't much
interest in having new rims made. Can't say that I want one any more
either.
