Hi,
Is there some reason that's not obvious to me (spamming etc), why quite a few people do not fill out their profile? Even just a location (with town) would be something, but occupation and interests do add a little more.

That's facsinating, really. Those houses on stilts. Do the people use cars &/or boats?
Do they have little webs of skin between their toes & is it why your adopted left foot looks a bit like a flipper

Wednesday and Thursday the road was put back in. Every year since 1991 it has been washed out during fall or winter Atlantic storms. This gets these folks around 8 weeks of use in the summer to enjoy there there homes on stilts. I guess if you live out there you have a 4wd vehicle or you don't visit home off season.

Gary

p.s. - The two photos of the pool in the backyard are a average tide near its when its a new moon or full moon with 30 to 40 knot winds out of the North East for a acouple days. As the speed of the wind goes up so does tha Oh SH!T pucker effect. October 30th 1991 the wind was 50+ knots or better for 3 days. The tides were slightly above normmal and the water was a couple inches Above the bottom of the door in the second photo. The rug was wet in several places, had a Lot of luck that day.
There have been 2 "hundred year storms" one in February 1978 the other in October, 1991, we are over due for another.

I didn't know James had Elan's, what kind? I bet he's a Sprint guy.
Hows that song go? "I'm a steam roller for you baby", maybe thats how the Elan got the name?

Happy 4th of July

Gary

In Miami, there is a group of about 7 houses know collectively as Stiltsville, out in Biscayne Bay. They were all privately owned until a few years ago when they were taken over by the National Park system. Now they are allowed to be used by organizations such as the Boy Scouts for weekend events. (I camped on one of the structures with my Troop when I was a Scoutmaster.) The boys loved to fish right outside the front door. I think the water there is about 15 feet deep at high tide.

Back during Prohibition, one of these structures was known as a place to come out on your boat and buy some quality bootleg "hootch." There were more of these structures in the past, but owners (squaters) were not allowed to rebuild them after hurricanes... so some were lost and never allowed to be rebuilt. Now they are being saved as a part of Miami history. There were some notorious parties held there in the Miami Vice era.

Can't get there in your Elan however...
