Can anyone tell me how to remove the drive gear from a 4 speed gearbox as I need to replace the O ring?

Many thanks.

Drain the gearbox.

Remove 7/16 bolt (9) that secures the forked hold down (6).

Pry lightly on each side (alternating) of the "bearing" (3) with a very small flat blade screwdriver.

Out she comes!

I agree that this is the method, but in my experience "prying lightly" often turns into a cursing exercise.
