Hi All
I know this my have been repeated - my engine runs fine, blips on throttle smooth, and revs settle to idle after blipping throttle.

However, when I fit th bonnet - it seems the throtle cable pushes over an onto throttle lever arm - raising the revs and also making operation of the throttle pedal stiff and erratic.

I have the standard throttle cable setup which i linked direct to throttle lever arm - with throttle spring fitted under as standard.

Should I fit and bridge bracket between the carbs and fit another spring from this bridge to thethrottle level togive it more tension????

Any comments /experiences /ideas please appreciated an thanks in advance

Cheers

Nico

Nico,
I always think it looks a bit of a bodge when an "extra" bracket and spring are fitted and it should not be necessary, the normal spring "under" which you have pulls the cable back but there is a spring(s) fitted in the carb to return the throttle shaft back to the closed position independent of the cable spring, are yours broken of defective?
The other springs(s) are located under the small plates adjacent to the throttle shaft/linkage.
Assuming you have Webers :?:

I've used bicycle brake cable to replace my throttle cable.

You probably have a worn inner surface of the cable outer and modern bicycle cables have nice slippery inner surfaces.

You can cut a length of outer to replace the existing long piece of the throttle cable outer.
