John, yes indeed it was ! :D

The 'weekend family car' is frequently to be seen at local (and some not-so-local) classic car shows...

Kind regards,

Love the colour - very nearly went for that myself in the respray.

Only a week to go before I take the chassis up to be re-united with the body.... better get out there and check for any loose ends!

Sean.

I remember seeing it at the Hunstanton Kite thing :)

Mine was still in many pieces at the time.

Sean,

I agree. The dark colour goes well with the alloy wheels.
If it was good enough for ACBC, then it's good enough for me too ! :D
Unless it was an unpopular colour that didn't sell, and he was just using up stock....?!

I don't know anything about the mirror as it came with the car, except that it's USELESS. If you were well over 6' tall it might work, but all I can see is the centre barrier on motorways... I've tried to 'jam' the glass in a better position, but the whole thing seems to be screwed to the car in the wrong place - for me at least. The chrome's not too good either... BUT, it does look fashionably racy!

I've got one of those mirrors, and can confirm it is indeed a chocolate teapot. To be replaced on mine by one of the ubiquitous sixties style copies from Holden...

Thanks guys for your feedback in regards to the mirrors. I have already acquired some bullet type mirrors which I will fit one day. I do prefer the plus two without any mirrors but modern day traffic including busy motorways demand mirror fitting ( even in Auckland New Zealand)
Cheers
