Wow....I used to own this Elan KDH 2D. A wonderfull, original example with the very rare Indian Red interior.
Glad to see it's being exercised regularly !

Salut Christian, (is that correct ?)

Have you now got "Old English White" back in running order again after your troubles after Classic Le Mans ?

I am hoping I can make it to Classic Le Mans 2008, we meet again ? but you just do not know what will happen between now and then.

Best wishes for Xmas and 2007

Doug.

... Hi everybody ,
Doug ,
"OEW" is nearly back on her wheels again , before the end of the year , for sure !
2007 will be a quieter year for me , because of my engine , drinking as much oil than fuel ! , and because I don't want to brake something , we 'll be away from track until the 2008' Le Mans Classic ! ... and BTW your spelling was correct !
Nick ,
What a surprise to hear about KDH 2D ... On the documents I get with the car , Your name did not appear .
So , if you have some doc's or even better , pictures of KDH 2D during your ownership , please ... MP !
And , because it's time , I wish to all of you ..."Un Joyeux No?l & de Bonnes F?tes de fin d'Ann?e" !
Christian.

Hi Christian,
What a surprise it was to see this lovely Elan again ! I purchased it from the elderly gentleman around 4 years ago and ran it as a 4th car for around 7 months. I then offered it to my old pal Paul Clugston ( who has a soft spot for early baby Elans ! )
I have probably owned around 20 baby Elans over the past 20 years or so ( including the Prototype Coupe LNK 120C which i restored back in 1999 ) and I can honestly say that KDH was one of the nicest original pre air flow coupe's I have owned and i'm glad it is now being regularly exercised rather more than I had time to do during my ownership.
I do have some photo's which I took just prior to me selling it to Paul, if you would like, I will forward them to you.
Incidentally, I currently have a lovely white '67 baby Elan Coupe that I will be selling around March 07 which could be of interest to one of your colleagues within your club ? Let me know if you're interested !
Enjoy KDH, It's a smashing Lotus example.
Kind Regards,
Nick Blunsden.

Christian,

I think it is a great shot of your Elan under the bridge with the sun etc. Top image.

I notice you always have a passenger. Understanding that he slows you down a bit, is he there for centre of gravity balance. Not wishing to be rude, but just wondering as you must have set your ride height with him in mind ????????

Mike

Happy New Year to all! :D

... Happy new year to all of you , too !
Mike ,
"The" passager always on board is "the" reason of having fun in "OEW" !
My son , William , spend as much time on the car than me , and is with me for every event ... and I am sure than he "push" me more than be alone in the car !

Hi Doug ,
When writing in english , I suppose to be safe ...
I am never at the right speed ... Never.
Too quick on the road , not enough on track!
Back from Donington I get another nice picture of the rear of the company car I was driving !
Like on the video , and generaly when driving "OEW" in the trafic , I prefer to be as quick as possible , even if the sound help to be noticed ...
If not , other drivers tend to forget that this little car is 40 years old , and sometimes feel to curious ... and driving too close .
No such problems in UK !?!

Christian- exactly the same problem in the UK, especially from trucks like the Cayenne and Q9; they don't seem to realise that they need twice the distance of the Elan in emergency stop- scary at times.
