Claus

Just to inform you, that the car sailed through its danish MOT yesterday and now it has danish license plates, (in the back at least. I will not ruin the cars good looks, by fitting a front licenplate 8) ). A testament to the previous owners work, it sailed through. I dropped it off at my local classic car specialist on monday, and got the car back thursday morning. He can really do magic on old cars. He replaced one of the front trunnions, which was badly worn. Fitted lhd halogen headlights, fitted sidemirrors in the original style, fitted side indicators (both the mirros, and the ekstra side indicators are needed to MOT the car in Denmark). He fitted electronic ignition and the original style chrome wheel rimms. He took care of a leak in the accelerator pumps in the carbs, and he tuned it on the rolling road. It was running quite lean. He also fixed the rather flimsy revcounter, and fixed the stiff throttle cable. For peace of mind I changed the oil, fanbelt, coolant and plugs. It was running a bit on the hot side, but after the tune up, the needle sits nicely at 85`. The car goes like stink now, and is an even bigger joy to drive. I love it! I took some pics today.....

Great car, I think you picked the right Elan, I am certain another Forum user captured your car

at " Pics from Club Lotus Castle Combe Trackday 23rd May 09 " in the Gallery, I remembered the car after
browsing through the pics, I am still searching for a +2, one or two to view in the weeks ahead.

Chris
