Halfords do one thats robust. Ive had one on mine for about 4yrs now. Not the light blue thin type. I had two of those and sun does eat it.
Mines grey and has put up with 34° degree southern sun and some evil storms.
50 of the queens finest i think it was.
Kick the tyres and light them fires...!!!!!!!

Except Halfords say DO NOT use on fibreglass cars!

Sorry to have been the bearer of bad news.
I expect they are being pessimistic about osmosis risks.
There's a balance between an indeterminate risk using the cover and the known issues from the external environment.
Its working for you so stick with it.

OP wants outside protection from Scottish winter, not sure CoP is up to that!
I have used a cheap tent on my drive - got nearly 3 years out of a £60 Aldi one.
Better half said I couldn't take it back under guarantee!

Left mine outside under a breathable cover....ended up with blisters all over the paintwork.
