Lotus Elan

Elan dash-level vents

PostPost by: TomR » Thu Jun 15, 2017 2:52 pm

I'm looking for a pair of the little push-flap vents used on a standard Elan on each side of the dash. Anyone know if these are reproduced or maybe someone has used ones? I did a search but didn't see a source. Thanks, TomR

I assume you mean the approx. 30mm diameter vents. They are sometimes referred to as eyeball vents.
They are not usually available nor reproduced as far as I know.
I believe they were used on the Rover P6.
Just keep asking and searching.

Tom, I am pretty sure I have at least 1 used. I need to get to my parts steerage to check and take some photos. PM me and we can price and delivery.

Thanks for the replies.

To be clear, I'm looking for the straight-through vents as #14 in the illustration. I normally think of the round ball swivel vents like those on the Cortina and +2 as eyeball vents. I imagine I could make up a functional set if need be but OEM would be nice. Tom

These may be the right vents - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROVER-P5-FRESH-AIR-VENTS-/162548786382?hash=item25d8a9a4ce:g:iJ0AAOSwceNZPAKV

It's difficult to see from the photo.

I think I may also have one, hit me up if you're still looking. I'm in Australia though.

Thanks for the responses everyone. This forum is great!

Especially thanks to Phil for spotting the Rover equivalents on Ebay. They are mine for the princely sum of 4.15! Although shipping from Wales was almost 4 times that....
