Lotus Elan

LH Seven / Elite Front Suspension Top link

PostPost by: Mazzini » Mon Dec 10, 2018 6:16 pm

Just need a LH one now.

Not the right forum I know, but a few of you have Sevens or Elites so this post is aimed at you.

I am in need of a pair of front suspension top links - Mk 14 doesn't have any, Will buys them from Redline and they don't have any. I tried Dave Bean and they're out. If you have a NOS pair sitting unused on the shelf please drop me a line.

The pair I have are of an unknown age. If you're not familiar with this part, there is a ball joint built in, if I knew of a company that could rebuild the ball joint that would work.

Hello Mazzini,

Have you contacted Mike Ostrov? He is very conversant on all things Elite Type 14 and suppliers. Please PM me if you want his contact info.

Regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your reply.

I know Mike, sadly he hasn't got any spare.

Without Mike's extensive knowledge and kindness, I wouldn't have got as far as I have with my rebuild.

Merry Christmas!

Rob,

If you could find some to copy, I know a very good fabricator in Suffolk who could make them for you.

@John - thank you so much for the tip. I've just purchased a RH link, but the LH links are out of stock. I think they all come from the same supplier and they don't want to make anymore till somebody pays for a large production run.

@Andrew - thanks for that. Mike Brotherwood is in the process of making adjustables, but I think they're a while off yet.

I'm sorry I can't help you with the gearlever you were after, I guess you've tried TTR?

John - many thanks, but I spoke to Mike a couple of weeks ago, he's out of the original type and hasn't yet made any adjustables.

Thank you for the link, but unfortunately it only shows zero stock when trying to add the part to the shopping basket.
