wheel trim rings?

PostPost by: Oasis1 » Mon Jul 02, 2018 9:20 pm

I was wondering where would I get a new set of trim rings? Do other cars share the same rings? RD in the States do not carry them. Let me know if anyone knows, Thx JIm

the original equipment stainless steel rings are obsolete, but I have found very good alternatives and very cheap.

I believe I got them from Victoria British, a set of 4 for about $50 bucks. Can't beat it!

Oh wow, what other car are they listed for? I dont think Victoria British has elan parts or at least market them as such. Will MG rings actually work? They do look good, Thx Jim

not vehicle specific. just 13" beauty rings or trim rings. They do scratch the paint on the rim behind the trim ring, but that's how they attach. The OEM rings are thinner and show more profile of the rim especially on the outside edge, but these are worth the price to dress up your wheels if you don't really care about exact originality.

Have you got a reference for the Victoria British that's a very keen price.
Replacements from Paul Matty or Miles Wilkins are not cheap + they rust and are different.

When i last bought one from Matty it was different to the trims i had bought from Miles
Alan

I understand the original were Sunbeam

These are listed as for Sunbeam (p 161 of their current catalog - apparently still working with paper)

There is a UK supplier, I bought a set a couple of years ago for next to nothing, I'm sure the name will come to me eventually, Classicar perhaps?
