Just a bit of fun.......
I am intrigued by the Sprint on Ebay and the fact it has zoomed up to ?4200 with 5 days to go.....

So what do we reckon?
(I have cast my vote at ?9000)

When I posted this yesterday elan-for-sale-f2/elan-sprint-for-sale-spyder-t24605.html it was at ?2400, so a couple of thousand in 24 hours!

Sorry! Just woken up to this topic, Tim gave me a nudge with his blackboard rubber!
Genuine DHC Sprint complete with wicker basket and case rack, I have spoken to the owner and we think a non informed person will buy it and pay in the region of ?10,000 - ?11,000. I wouldn't pay that even if it was a rolling project rather than a pile of bits, but it goes to show current interest. My S4 was a complete car that required restoration having sat in a garage since the 1980's and that cost me ?6000 just over 2 years ago.
When I say non informed person, I mean one of the many people who think it will only cost just a few thousand pounds to restore based on their experience with classic Mini's or similar, but even Mini's are no longer cheap to restore.
Apparently there are 268 watchers as of 1pm today, that probably includes quite a few people on here. Seasoned Ebay users normally wait for the last day to even think about bidding and the last hour to plan their bids in the last few seconds, there is already a good old fashioned bidding war going on which points towards inexperienced bidders who are likely to get carried away.
Regards

PS Perhaps at ?4300 my S4 can become a Sprint
Don't hold your breath Terry! I'm predicting the normal Ebay scenario of the existing bidders waiting for the last hour or even last few minutes and seconds to place their final bids and there will be other lurkers who haven't announced themselves by bidding who will put in late bids. I expect quite a few bid robots such as Auction Sniper are primed and ready to bid in the last 5 seconds.
We shall see if I have egg on my face around 1:15pm UK time.

Didn't someone get about 3 grand for a smashed body-shell a couple of weeks ago? I thought you could almost get a new one for that. World's gone mad I tell 'ee.
My vote is for 10k.

Jim,
reading through the lines of your message I assume you either have already or are going to bid. It's a good job it doesn't end late on a Friday or Saturday night as the dreaded beer + Ebay scenario would push up the price and cause disharmony big time for somebody!

Alan,
I think Jim is referring to his current situation alluded to in this thread:
http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/elan-f14/elan-basket-case-for-sale-t24593-15.html
- 6th post down.
Incidentally, how does one link directly to a particular post?
Cheers

Thanks Robbie,
I haven't been paying too much attention recently, I can see what Jim means now! I think his S3 is a better prospect than this Sprint mind you.
