Hi Fred,

Whilst it is a long way if you can spare a day travelling it is probably no more than ?90 in fuel there and back which is probably less than you'd pay for an inspection. The added advantage is that you won't have to pay courier charges if you buy it as you could bring it back with you and there's nothing like face to face with a fist full of tenders for negotiating the price. A nice stop at Matty on the way back for bits would also save you some more money! In the end you could be quids in!!!

Btw.. Is an ong a new tangled measure of distance bit like a Lepton for speed? :D

yep....thought about it......about 800 mile round trip......12 - 14 hours total + stops....o/night stay?
mostly motorway which I don't much enjoy these days........
then what if the engine is c**p......

:D fred :D

btw; is a tender a very sensitive ?10 note?

Bloody autocorrect on the iPad is going to get me in trouble one day! I did spot it but didn't bother to amend it.

Not sure where in Devon you are but Taunton to Sunderland is only around 300 miles - I say only!! If you can't face such a long trip in one go I know Travelodge have some offers on and you can get ?19 rooms if it's not a popular night or area that you book. Worth thinking about?

is 'autocorrect' being in the right car?

the other thing is, if I've driven 400 miles with a fistful of fivers, that gives the seller a lot of leverage.........
i.e. i'm not likely to drive all that way and then go back empty handed.......
