I've been told that a forthcoming episode ("Death in the Slow Lane") of this UK TV detective series will (or may) feature several interesting Lotuses (and Bentleys) and may be worth watching just for that reason. I don't know exactly when it will be shown and you can find out as much as I know about the Lotuses by doing a suitable internet search.

Just found these on the set pictures

Looks very interesting.
Apparently it is the first episode featuring John Barnaby as the DI (John Nettles character has retired)

Well did anyone else watch it last night?
No Lotus cars unfortunately.
Just the usual adultery, incest, animal sex, oh & murder!
Cheers

That's what life is like round here in Midsomer. There's more dead bodies than potholes.
I watched it on and off last night but it took a while before I realised it wasn't a documentary.
I often see the film crew in the town at some point in the summer and it's amusing to do location spotting on the programmes
and also to see where they've linked two places twenty miles apart as part of the same location.

"Death in the Slow Lane" was last weeks episode, at least in the Southern region.

Aha!
This thread is beginning to resemble the Wheeler Dealer thread of a few months ago.
So did you watch it & were the anticipated Lotus cars featured?
Is the southern region normally ahead of the rest of "the Island" so that we can still anticipate that episode?
Cheers

It was the first of the new series, so unlikely to be shown out of sequence.
However, see it for yourself...22 days left on ITV player...

Urgh, my brain is fogged out from watching two two-hour episode of Midsomer Murders in one day.
Can there possibly be a slower more boring detective TV series than this. They should edit each episode down to one-hour to make them interesting. The new Barnaby is much more boring than John Nettles was and didn't show any spark of character in the whole 4 hours except for about 5 minutes when he is suspended by rope by the baddie over some very sharp plough-blades. What total lack of imagination led to the production company replacing DCI Barnaby with another character DCI Barnaby (a cousin of the first) with more or less (actually less) the same characteristics; did the production company not have enough money to edit pre-prepared scripts to change "Barnaby" to say "Featherstone" or whatever.

Anyway, the Death in the Fast Lane episode did have numerous classic cars in it. The main featured ones were much older than our Elans. I did see one light blue two-seater Elan and some of the 'racing' cars were probably Lotuses, but I'm not good at recognising those.

How sad!
Is this what Elan owners do with their time? are the cars so reliable that we have to watch four hours of drivel hoping to see a five second shot of a Lotus to comment on the forum ......me thinks its time I sold my cars!
Come back Gary.....all is forgiven!
