Mirror, mirror on the .. what?

Can anyone identify this mirror which I picked out of a skip.

The mouldings read D 47-66-00-515 and G R.

Thanks Bud, I meant to Google it myself first; the English translation doesn't reveal anything either but ?60 sounds useful. (That's 60 Euros).

But what does it fit? I think it's from a motorcycle or side-car but a neighbour running English bikes doesn't recognise it.

Possibly a late 50's VW Beetle - I seem to remember that they had a similar arrangement.
