Nostalgia time.....

I don't generally post links to Youtube films as there're millions of them and one mans meat etc.

But this is the best old one I've seen for a long time, especially if you're engine orientated.
It deals with the days Ford were trying to get into turbos using a 4 cylinder, before doing the V6.
The looks on the faces of the guys in the dyno room when the 4 lets go at 11,000 rpm are priceless.

Probably the longest I've heard Keith Duckworth talk.....

Thanks for posting- very enjoyable.

I didn't realize things were so basic then at Cosworth....

Great to see this. Its the first time I have seen details of how Cosworth tried to turn the BDA into a F1 turbo engine.

Even with all those 4 bolt caps and other mods you see they were defeated by the inherent vibration in the nose of the block and crank at high revs that still race engine builders of twinks struggle with above 9000 rpm.

cheers

Thanks for the interesting video link. If I remember correctly, both the car and engine turned out to be a disappointment and only lasted about a year. They consistently ran at the back of the grid. Perhaps Haas 2.0 will have more success! :)
