Yes, I'd love to know. Where is the source information for this "electric" E-Type.
An electric E-Type. The ultimate sacrilege !

So it's electric all right. And it drives itself.
Sounds like a lot of fun.

Hmm. Electric motor where the gearbox usually sits, batteries in the engine space, no change in weight distribution, 0-60 in 5.5 secs. Elan "Spark" or E-Sprint anybody?

As I watched Prince Harry settle in I noticed there was no checking for neutral before starting, etc. I went to BBC's web site where the Jaguar was termed a "Concept Zero" E-Type. Googled "Concept Zero" and all was revealed.

Interestingly Jaguar has made the conversion to plug-in electric reversible. The original powertrain can be reinstalled.

Their workmanship is just superb, but the cars are re-engineered, high torque engines, their own designed and built 5 speed boxes, electric PAS, revised suspension, their own brake calipers, the list goes on and on.

If one were in SoCal, Michael Bream's EV West in Carlsbad would be the place to convert an Elan, or any other Lotus to electric power. They have done many conversions from a BMW E36 that he raced at Pikes Peak to more VW's than I can count. A Fiat 124, Ferrari 308 and a Factory Five 818. Maybe I should have considered that instead of the Zetec. But the Zetec has a lot longer range to go into the back country. A friend told me yesterday he is thinking of selling his Plus2 project.....hmmmmmm.........
