I live in the U.S.. I was watching a TV program. The story was taking place in the UK. One character said that he was bought several pints in the Public Section at the pub.
What is a "Public Section". I am confident that many forum members are well acquainted with pubs.
Thanks
Bob

Have a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pub
There is a section about the 'Public Bar' which kind of agrees with KevJ+2.

Almost all pubs in the UK have remodelled and removed the distinction between: Public Bar, Lounge Bar and Ladies Bar nowadays.
So your research will be one long pub crawl in search of an olde time pub.
