fuel pump advice

I thought Webers were best at 1.5 psi which is what I've set.

Weber themselves sell an electric fuel pump for DCOE applications and they state that its preset at 2.5 - 4.5 psig. I guess that varies dependant on the flow rate so 4.5psig at no flow and 2.5psig at max flow, probably around 3 - 3.5 in normal running.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!

Well Des Hammill's book says 1.5 to 2.5 psi so we are both correct. But my point was that some Facet Cube pumps have a much higher output at about 7 psi, so you need to get the correct pump if you plan to run without a regulator. Personally, if I was running an electric pump I would run with a regulator.

Yes, I?ve selected a pump that is rated at 2-3psi so should be fine without a regulator, but have yet to run the engine with it yet. Still finishing the electrics on the car, mainly the dashboard to do now, transfer all the instruments and wiring harness to a new one as the woodwork is in a bad way. Then fire it up for the first time in over 30 years!

An electric pump has many advantages, for me the main one was you can check the pump wlthout having the engine running, a chicken and egg puzzle with the mechanical pump which gave me a lot of hassle.

A bought a pair of solid state Facets maybe 15 years ago, as my rally friends said you needed to carry a spare.

Original still going strong, the spare is still in the box. :)

(I'm using Weber 45s on 1890ccs )

I recently had the original AC mechanical fuel pump restored for my S2 by http://www.then-now-auto.com in Weymouth, Massachusetts. They did an amazing job.
