Fire Extinguisher......

For once in my life I am glad I don't have any stories of my own in this area!
I do however carry a 10lb (~2.5KG) extinguisher in my +2. For taller +2 drivers it fits very well in front of the drivers seat, in a bracket mounted to the seat bolts. It's right where you need it when you need it and sits in what is other wise dead space and isn't noticeable.

Right ok, plan is 2kg powder in the boot 2x 1kg Co2 behind the seats (mainly as i already have them fitted) and just to keep Steve happy a Blanket fixed to the underside of the glove box (which seems to fit quite well if i can secure it well enough)
That should keep my paranoia happy
Btw, Les good spot, ?17 delivered for a 2k Powder extinguisher with a bracket too is a bargain.

Mbell, do you have a pictures? my +2 is next on the agenda when the 2 seater is done.
Do you mean some thing like this?? i was actually wondering where i could put an extinguisher in the cabin of my +2 as i do tend to use the back seats.

No but will try to remember to take one or two tonight.

Yes, just like that. I have it in standard extinguisher bracket fasten to length L section aluminum that secure to the car with the seat bolts. So it doesn't move with the seat which limits the forward seat travel quite a bit but isn't a problem for me.

I used to have a Halon extinguisher plumbed in, the tank was under the passenger's knees and a pull handle on my side.
I didn't have any occasion to use it and the gas slowly leaked away, then I found out about the Halon ban so I couldn't get it refilled and it turned out that the tank being steel was not suitable for a pressurized water system, so I've taken it out & just have a hand operated powder extinguisher now.
