Honeycomb panels instead of particle-board: SAFER + light

PostPost by: el-saturn » Sun Jan 07, 2018 10:47 am

............just an idea for those who are restoring an elan. this is 1/2inch aircraft honecomb (we used to have this stuff on stock) - just needed some "hammer force" (too thick) where the seat is too wide! it weighs nothing and in my opinion makes the stinker safer!? sandy

I wanted to use this for the boot floor on my +2 but couldn't find a good source so just went with 1/4 light plywood instead...

I agree, I used nomex with biaxial fibreglass coverings on S1, then foam filled the sill areas as well, super light and strong!
