PostPost by: lotusbzz » Wed Oct 18, 2017 12:29 pm

does anybody know how this stick fits on the Elan S4 ?

elan-mirror-stick.jpg and

it's not clear for me (... that never seen any Elan since mine arrived dismanteld) which is the top and the bottom i.e. which side is stuck into the crashpad and which one is fixed on the top frame of the windscreen.
a pic of the top and bottom attachment is apreciated.
Aiuto!?!?! Help me?!?!?!

Have a look at this thread, it has some pictures of the op assembly lotus-chassis-f36/elan-windshield-trim-t15112.html you appear to be missing the Cast alloy block, Spacer and securing screw.

The bottom fixing just drops through a hole in the back edge of the crash pad (through the Crash pad GRP mounting structure) then fixed with a large penny washer and nut (best using a nyloc as it's a pain to get to with the dash in place).

thank you Grizzly!?!?!
for the very quick replay?!?!?!?

the configuration of the two ends seems to be: the washer end to the top and the adjusting nut bottom.
just to double check , is this correct?

Sorry no, the washer end goes to the bottom (dash end) and the adjuster end goes to the top (the adjuster should sit inside the alloy block that screws to the top of the window frame)

Oziswan,
In that case I suppose it may be better to try other dealers. Sue has supplied me with almost everything I wanted, but always by phone.
