+2 "A" Pillar Covering

I have the headlining material to cover the "A" pillars - the sides of the windscreen - for my +2, but was wondering what goes between that material and the fiberglass body. A bit of thin foam perhaps, or something else?

I rolled up 10mm jute sound proofing and pushed it into the A pillar. I then glued 12mm foam sheet over it with the edges chamfered prior to gluing so as to form a nice 'cushion' .
When I fitted the headlining this left a nice 'plump' finish, once the headlining had been stretched and glued over the foam.
I am very pleased with the result which is probably what Lotus should have done originally had they taken the time.

Jon- That sounds like a good fix. I found a hard rubber filler strip on one side and nothing on the other. Discussed here: lotus-chassis-f36/headliner-insulation-question-t28476.html?hilit=roof#p188753
