Plus 2 door seals (again)

Hi
I am looking to replace my door seals as I think they are the wrong type. I did a search and found this post from oldelanman that shows the "double flap" original seal type:

My car currently has a typical D section seal, and the doors need a bit of a slam to close properly, although once closed they do align well.
The nearest I can find to the original only has a single flap. It looks like this:

Has anyone used this type of seal, and if so, how effective is it? Is there any alternative, other than a D section seal?
Thanks
JonB
(Edit: Meanwhile, I have approached a supplier to see if they can obtain the original seal.)

I'm afraid that these sort of things are hard to get direct replacements for.
On a related vein I found that both Matty and SJ sell door window trims the wrong size (too tall) I got the right stuff for a quarter the price including postage from Vintagecarparts in Norfolk - more recently been taken over and will be moving to Worcestershire soon.
I don't think they do our door trim though.
