While I continue to search for something to use as a +2 dash core, as anybody tried one of these covers from eBay?

It looked pretty good and thought I might try it but noticed on close up, there's a center seam--glaringly wrong. Gordon Sauer

Didn't notice that. I can understand why using real leather makes it hard to get single [expensive] pieces that long, but yeah.

Just received my dash cover after I went ahead and ordered it because in email correspondence with them, they indicated they could make it in vinyl, as original, and then not have the center seam. I'm really pleased, I just ran out to the car and laid it over everything and it's really nicely cut, the corners that are always a little fiddly look like they're nicely sewn and balanced so that that should work out nicely once I work it against the mold of the dash. But really pleased. Gordon Sauer

Sounds promising if needed. What did they charge?

Came out to like $165 US. Seems like given what upholsterer's charge for sewing things and all, if you've got the base okay this would really be a good thing. However in contrast I do have an MGB and got a top panel to hide a crack and that was only $78 but then that's an MG. Gordon Sauer
