Tunnel top/Armrest

On the 2-seat Elan, can I assume that the armrest / top of tunnel plastic tray and trim simply sits without fixings? There are no holes in mine which suggests it was never screwed down.

Mine has no fixings either. It just fits quite snugly over the carpeting.

my pad has bolts that go down through the plastic and nuts on the other side....it's probably not original.
(very late 66 S3 FHC)
