+2 Windscreen

PostPost by: Mick6186 » Sun Apr 15, 2018 8:46 pm

I am rebuilding a +2 130/5 first registered in January 1973.
Were vehicles of this age originally fitted with toughened or laminated windscreen,
thanks,
Mick

Hi Mick,

I have just removed the original front screen from my 73 S130 and that was a Triplex laminated screen. Hope this helps in some way.

Best regards, George.

Thanks for the replies.
The screen in my car is toughened glass so for safety I think I need to replace with Laminated.
Anyone have a good condition one for sale?
Regards,
Mick.

I also need a new one for a 1969 +S, due to an annoying stone chip in an otherwise very tidy screen (too big and in the wrong place to be mended unfortunately).

Pilkingtons say they don't make new screens for the +2, but they have them for the Consul Cortina, which is equivalent. There are other threads on this one...
