For many many years I always thought yellow, but I'm just an old tart, and it's orange for me now!
But whilst yellow can be on any model of Elan, orange only looks right on Sprints and later Plus 2 cars....obviously :D

Plus one to that  I do agree with Mark though, Colorado only looks right on Sprints and I do prefer mono Colorado, but really they're all good :D

This might ruffle a fear feathers so I will start by saying sorry to the proud owners of these two fine cars and extend another sorry to all the owners of S4 Sprints and look-alike-Sprints that carry the two tone colour scheme. I have always thought the Sprint livery was a distraction from the purity of the Elans' distinctive form????

I have owned a yellow/white Sprint in the past but actually nowadays think that combo is a bit 'mainstream' and would go for one of the other mixtures, using lime green, lagoon blue or Colorado in preference, though that's a good comment above mono colours, which somehow look more 'current' to my eyes.

It's all personal preference I suppose !

I'm sort of with you there, I like the monotone cars and I nearly went monotone Pistachio for my S4. The 1970's colours are very fashionable at the moment, but give it another 10 years we will all be lusting after the white or blue shades again.

There was a very nice pistachio over white Sprint at the Club Lotus Malvern show ( held there because Donington was closed) and the combination of white, lime green and gold just seemed to work splendidly. Mrs T said she liked it and could we have ours that colour scheme, who was I to argue?

Probably the purest Elan of all is a pre airflow S3 coupe, I certainly wouldn't mess one of those up with two tone.
Kindest regards

And now I wonder what one would look like in orange! They are nearly all black, solver or grey, so one of those could be sacrificed to be wrapped.
