The cortina in that last pic was also clark's - there was an "interesting" moment when some chap dropped his bunch of keys on the beautifully painted front wing...

p.p.s does anyone know anything about the yellow elan with the bonnet louvres above, it was running a huge additional silencer and was going like stink on track. I was wondering what the engine spec was.

I am sure there are a number of people on the forum quite familiar with the yellow Elan with the louvres. I believe it has a Cosworth BDG mated with a 6 speed. A fellow named Tony P. is the owner?

Hello Tony P here, did anyone else have trouble with meeting the noise limits? for the past 5 years I have run a small additional silencer on my Elan which got me through, this year however that setup registered
108 decibels despite my complaints I ended up buying that huge silencer from Merlin Motorsport for ?57.00 which reduced my output to 98 decibels. I am sure their meter had a bad day

Great set of pictures and nice to see so many other elans on the day.

Looking at the pictures quite a few have the wipers parked on the left , is this simply a case of them being fitted that way round or was there two different systems.

You have to be trying to get parking on left, different mechanism to get wider sweep in front of driver and arms cranked other way.
