No rivets used in the original assembly just 2 posts in the upper half that inserted thru the lower half and then mushroomed over. They looked much like a rivet. Once drilled off only the now shortened post remained. I thought about drilling out the post to accept a small #4 machine screw but was concerned about the remaining wall thickness of the post. Resorted to glueing the now shortened posts into the holes in the lower half consequently the next repaint will be rather more difficult.
Jack is a car crazy young lad. He has most every character from the Disney Pixar Cars 1 and 2 movies. They are his best friends. He knows all their names and enjoys hours of car play with them and other small scale model cars.
He received the Elan S2 in Grandads race livery last week and was super excited about the new member of his fleet.
It's a really good roller on a hardwood floor and tracks dead straight. I used some graphite oil on the wheel centers. It will get used hard and likely need a respray before long. Not indented to remain on the shelf.
I hope the grandparents out there find the same joy as I have found in Jack. And even better in 2 months he gets a baby brother.
Life is Good.
