Production records or chassis number database?

Does such a database exist? I'm trying to find information on two cars that were exported to the Caribbean and have been stripped to pieces for decades. I suspect they may have been bought used in UK and exported privately but maybe not.

I have records for most/all Elans and Plus 2s which indicate unit number, engine number and date of first invoice. I have extensive records of Sprints, including the above and colour for later cars.

Andy Graham, the Lotus Cars archivist also has these records plus some additional information for most Elans, including name of dealer/first owner. Between Andy and myself we are attempting to rebuild all Elan records, as some factory records were lost in a flood in the late 1970s.

Let me know the VINs for the two cars you have and I shall be as helpful as I can.
