Has anyone heard of or tried the Custom Autosound Secret Audio SRMS? I saw this at http://www.vintagecarradio.com and it seemed like a nice solution because I want to keep my original in the dash. Just looking for a review before I spend 379.00. Thanks.

Can you actually hear the radio in the car when it's running? I just use my smartphone and a bluetooth speaker. Less than ?379 ..

Good thinking Carl, why emulate the boy racers, with a dummy 60's radio front in the dash and my favourite '60s music on my i-phone and a pair of Bang & Olufsen A8 Ear-Hook Headphones......

Have you looked into RetroSound? Classic looks, new technology, and the body can be remotely mounted and connected to the front panel via extension-cable, so no need to cut into the heater! You can get it in a handful of models, which then combined with one of about 30 different faceplate/knob kits allows you to mimic just about any classic look. It's what I'm planning to use in my Plus 2.

I use the RCD120, good sound, lots of features, stands off a little to much from the dash but not expensive

Bob, I have used the SST model in my Plus 2 for several years. I did a pretty thorough write up in the thread below. The summary comment remains the same; a good but not great radio that solves the Plus 2 mounting depth problem well. It is still working without issue, and love that it keeps the station settings with the battery disconnected for storage. Very happy with it.

One thing to note about the remotes. They are very good RF type and don't require line of sight to work well. Can't recall if I posted the story of the radio going haunted and changing stations at will. It was caused by my wife placing her phone on top of the remote stored in the glovebox!
