Indicator issue

PostPost by: Chris5360 » Thu Jun 15, 2017 9:33 am

Hi me again, with a new problem
Right basically my indicators aren't working now, they worked the other day, but there has been a lot going on in order to get everything going
Basically I can track the power all the way up to the stalk, if I turn the indicators on the multimeter goes to 0, if I disconnect the power to the acctual indiactors i get power all the wa to the connector at the lights, as soon as connected again gone
I have run new earths straight to the chassis but still the same
Any ideas are always welcome
Thank you

I should try another flasher unit assuming that a wire hasn't become disconnected somewhere.

Also it I link the wires form power to the relay to power that runs through the stalk, then the lights will come in solid, but with the relay nothing

Hi I had an issue with my indicators not working and I traced it to the earth wires that are located on the N/S where the bolt goes through the body to the front suspension upright , I wasn`t getting a good earth , maybe worth a try

Ok got it, have no idea how but they now suddenly work, might have been a loose wire, but doesn't explain why they would come on solid, unless the relay was sticky or something :)
So just reasonably and hopefully I can enjoy her in today's sun

Hi,
Indicators coming on but not flashing is indicative of low current draw, usually one bulb not working.
Side repeater not working could be the cause.
Ron.

Ok just tk update on this, it came back but turned out to be one of th screws holding the indicator stalk on was too long, going all the way through and touching the wire on the indicator circuit earthing it to the column, has talked me 4 x ?14 indicator relays before I spotted it ! :(
