Gearbox gasket sealant

Hi All,
Quick question, tried the search but it wasn't definitive. Is Blue hylomar to be used on the gearbox gaskets and is there an alternative? Guess that's 2 questions....

Hi Scott,
Lots of alternatives, but in my humble opinion Threebond 1211 is best sealant for gearbox and engine gaskets.
Stick your head under any engine or gearbox I have built, for proof!

Personally I prefer loctite / permatex aviation gasket adhesive No 3 on paper and cork gaskets.

Don't forget to seal the thread on the bolt with the through thread into box
