Unless you want the friction disc to be in balance, true you are removing metal close to the center of rotation. I would still go to a shop with a lathe.

If you fit one of those concentric clutch things when it leaks you will have the pleasure of removing the engine each time :roll:

I've used a Saab 900 a couple years ago when I fitted a 5 speed Lotus gearbox on my street car - no change on the master cylinder, been quite pleased with it so far so I'm going to fit one in my race car when the time comes (could be a few years at the current pace....) - rather cheap, too (less than 50 for the new slave assy iirc)
