Mark,

If I recall correctly, mine were marked with a marker pen on the diff side as "Diff". Other than that I just followed a logical process and they are still brilliant after 2k miles.

Any questions or uncertainties though I would speak to Sue.

On some sets, the threads were not quite long enough on the inboard (diff side) studs, and if washers aren't used under the Nylocs, there is a risk that the nuts reach torque setting before actually clamping to the diff output shafts correctly,

The studs on the outboard end are usually longer, as the have the added thickness of the disc to contend with.

Thanks to all for the help ,
particularly Chris , the different stud length is obvious, when you think about it
Thanks again

I would suggest using a reduce hex all metal nut like
3/8" 24 UNF 12 POINT NUTS AIRCRAFT/RACING NAS1805-6L
or some K nuts like these

nut_test2b.jpg and

Much better clearance and are reusable

I would not recommend reusing K-Nuts, it's a no no in motor sport. Their locking ability is significantly reduced.
