Rear stub axle difference?

PostPost by: nomad » Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:52 am

Anyone know the difference and diameter of the pitch circle diameter between the early and later rear axles? My eyes are blurring from searching the archives.....

Also when the change occurred.

Thanks
Kurt.

Hi, Kurt. My measurement of the later axles/brake disks for the center to center is: 83.00 mm and the early is 87.00 I rounded out due to the bi focals. I think the change started at approx. 26/3940. The NOS pair of rear brake disks I have for sale is for the later cars.

Cheers. Mike.

Thanks guy's for the response and the link. Apparently the later axles can be fitted to the issue 16 strut's. Wish i had known that before I put my rear together and am now thinking of doing it all over again.... :|
