Wrong gearlever?? (4-/5-speed)

PostPost by: ripley » Mon Jul 25, 2011 6:07 pm

I've still not 'found' my reverse gear! Having fitted a 5-speed gearbox (+2) in my S2, we've no idea where the reverse is. In the forum some guys told me it's on the right/back side (opposite to the fifth) and that there is a 'securing' (pushing the lever down). All there except the gear itself. Now, we are wondering if perhaps my gearlever itself is the wrong one as it lacked when purchasing the box so I've had to buy it separately. Are there any differences between 4- and 5-speed gearlever? Maybe some guys could post some pics...? I would be very grateful.

Here's a pic of the bottom of the lever. It has a 'notched' side and it goes to the right, as viewed from the
rear, looking forward. There is no 'securing' or detent to overcome. Just push the lever to the far right and
pull reward (with the right lever, of course :-)
