Like many here, I have owned a variety of Lotus, often in multiples...Cortina, Elan, Plus2, Esprit - currently have an M100 - and yes I confess I once owned a (type 75) Elite (ACBCs only misnomer perhaps?) .

Almost all of my Lotus have been, at one time or another, a project - such is the nature of the beast but I would classify this more as a reject than a project. :D

check out the absolute BEAUTY Elite on Hemmings right now for $29K! the very best example i have ever seen! Not sure he'll get that money, but it's got to be worth somewhere near that. Funky 1980 styling and nearly perfect condition (except A/C). Very tempting. You'd get every Lotus enthusiast oogling over this one that's for sure!

I know where a couple of carcasses of these can be had in northern Alabama. Maybe combine all three to make a car?

Personally I don’t think you can Use the word beauty & 80’s Elite in the same sentence. I find all of Winterbottom’s designs challenged...

Engine and gear box worth $1500 possibly. Not sure what the rest is worth but not much unless your restoring a car and need a parts car.

cheers
