KO wheel drive peg dimension please

PostPost by: ericbushby » Tue Apr 25, 2017 2:17 pm

Hello,
Does anybody know the correct PCD of the five drive pegs on the Elan knock off hubs.
I am looking into making a jig to firmly clamp the wheel centre with a view to straightening a buckled wheel.
It is early days yet, and a friend and myself are just running through some ideas.
Hope you can help

Hi Eric,
I made some spares from old rotoflex bolts that I had, (shoulders are the same size).
Just a thought, as you might have some.

Kev,
Thanks, but it is not the pin diameter I want, but the Pitch Circle Diameter on which the pins are fixed.
It is about 5 1/2" and difficult to measure accurately.
Cheers Eric

The PCD for the standard Elan 5 peg hub is 5.500 inch.

You can calculate this from the dimension S between adjacent peg centers and applying the formula (for a 5 peg configuration) PCD = S/.5878

http://www.ate-uk.com/news/latest-news/ ... ter-wheel/

The 5.500 inch is accurate to .001 as measured off my original S4 hub.

Eric, look at my post on 12th Nov 2013, I think my sketch gives the dimensions you need.

Thanks one owner and Richard, that is just what I wanted.
If I have a part made up I can now be sure of the correct dimension.
Obviously it has all been done and said before, but I have to admit that I did not look for it.
This has not got past the paper and pencil stage yet and if anything comes of it I will let you know.
Cheers

Eric,
You sound like a man on a mission, best of luck with getting that wheel sorted :-)
