Barber Motorsports Museum - photos

The first annual Barber Historics race combined with the allure of the Barber Motorsports Museums massive Lotus collection was enough to get me on a jet to Birmingham. Naturally I had heard about the museums Lotus collection but was unable to really find out a lot about it online or from other resources. As it turns out I counted 48 cars but one of the staff mentioned there are 52 and according to Barber, the its largest collection of Lotus race cars in the world. The building actually houses the Barber motorcycle collection and the Lotus collection only takes up a small area. The motorcycle collection is massive and it would take you several days to see and take it all in. Since most of you already know about various Lotus I will not include any commentary here about the cars in the collection. However there are a few survivors that are stunning.
I plan to have a more in depth article on my site when time allows but I hope you enjoy the photos. It was a difficult shoot because the lighting is not ideal and I didn?t have a tripod. All I can say is you need to visit and plan a two days to see it all.

Actually there are 54. Based on your photos did you include the Type 108 Bicycle, and the Lotus 119a, 119b, and 119c? Not sure the other 2 might be. in the restoration shop might complete the list. A complete list of cars was just published in ReMarque last issue (which is one of the few times this has ever been done).

I'd like to see them on the track!
