but might be a runner without too much effort  ?????

:D fred

Fred,
Well spotted, unfortunately that's probably going to sell for more than ?8000. It's already bid up to ?5400 with 8 days to go.
Kindest regards

I bought my Elan when it was only two years old and very soon gave up on the idea of using it as an everyday form of transport! I love it to bits, hope to never part with it, but hope that in retirement I will be able to dedicate enough time to keep it running properly :D
I spent more on repairs in the three years that I attempted to use the Elan as a " daily runner" than in twenty years running a diesel BMW.
Why do you think so many of us bought these wonderful beautiful cars in the 60's, but only now have the time(and funds) to enjoy them?

Another vote for a TVR, I have a ratty +2 and a Griffith and run them both on limited funds, There is a shortage of good early diffs but I picked up a good spare for ?150 a few weeks ago [just in case] but anyway the early chassis can be modded to take a late diff [maybe needing a body lift]. cheers, John.

Just as a far left field suggestion a 4 seater Morgan has enough room for daily use, and the engines and running gear go back as far as you like, or as modern as you can afford,

I don't know how much a ratty one would cost but they are easy to work on.

If you can get a +2 with a MOT under ?10,000 then you have a good deal.

Someone there who doesn't know that a gentle tap with a hammer on the front end of the starter will often unstick the Bendix on the other end of the starter to get it to engage the starter ring.
