I thought they were wood rim wheels - why is this one leather covered?
For that price you would expect it to be original and in perfect condition to start with,given you could get a totally new replica made for the same cost

Early Elans and Cortinas had spoke 120 degrees apart as this one is, but they were phased out on Elans pretty early on. At the end of '63, the S/E became available on Cortinas and that had the leather rim. Super-rare item, but I'm not sure about ?2500!!! Len Chandler has had them re-made; they are much stronger and look pretty much the same. and sell for ?300 or so.
