Dennis Ortenburger Died

PostPost by: trw99 » Mon Mar 02, 2015 6:46 pm

I was sorry to learn that Dennis Ortenburger died last week. He was a dyed in the wool Type 14 Elite nut and wrote The book on the car, a book I have always admired.

Before he authored any of his many Lotus-oriented books, Dennis was the editor of Stress Cracks, the newsletter for Lotus/West, the Lotus club in southern California. He and his former wife Marleen were charter members of L/W and were always enthusiastically involved with the club's events. Dennis's Elite was always as detailed as his writing.

Dennis Ortenburger will be missed.

Yes, Dennis did 3 Elite books, 1 Seven, 1 Eleven, 1 on Costin and the Red Leather Driving Gloves book, all in my library and I think a small "how to get started in vintage racing". . I was fortunate to offer some assistance and proof his last two Elite books. I talked to Gail about the sudden medical events that preceded his death. They had just returned from 31 days in India and were ready for their second African visit in May. A Celebration of Life will be this Saturday in Cambria. Gail sends her thanks to all who have offered their prayers and sympathies to her and the kids. We all will miss Dennis. Mike.
