London Sports Car Centre screen stickers

PostPost by: pereirac » Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:35 am

Hi,
Does anybody have a photo (with dimensions) of the window sticker used by the London Sports Car Centre when they sold Elans? I have found a company who can reproduce them for me at a sensible price and would like to get some made. If anybody want's one let me know as should bring the price down for everybody..

Thanks
Carl

Hi Carl. You saw my photo the other day at: lotus-talk-f50/london-sports-car-centre-t20648-30.html

That was taken this year when I was inspecting a Plus 2S 130/5 JPS. The car was provided from new by the LSCC, so it is genuine. They also produced a small plastic document holder with their logo on it, but I failed to get a photo of that. Although it's tricky to get the dimensions, you should be able to get rough measurements by taking the distance between rear window defrost lines on any period Plus 2 as a datum point.

Tim,
Would you believe it, I checked every Elan and +2 I could see at Hethel yesterday but did not see a single 'London Sportscar Centre' window sticker, only their name on a numberplate on an Esprit! But I was able to get an approx measure for the spacing of the +2 heated screen so should be able to get a rough idea of the sticker size..

Well done!

I have now taken to photographing any period dealer stickers I come across (anorak moment!). I have a great one of Mike Spence Ltd, also Len Street, Fairfield Performance, Normand, Bell & Colvill and Geoghan, Oz.

I'd very much like to find a Rob Walker dealer sticker if one existed. I have enough information to make one up that looks period and convincing, but would much rather have a picture of an original as a reference.

Here's hoping!

Anyone have a "the Chequered Flag" rear window decal? Perhaps we should start a new section on "Dealers Decals"? May be an interesting thing to see.

Can somebody suggest who the dealer was that would have sold my car initially. The registration is LMY nnC so that would suggest SE London I believe.

Well these turned up in the post today, they are about 6 ?" long and look really close to the originals (to my untrained eye).

I bought 4 so have two spare but can probably get more made?
