Lotus Seven S4 information

PostPost by: mr.vman » Mon Oct 27, 2014 11:43 pm

In the market for a Lotus Seven S4 in the USA. Looking for the workshop manual and parts list. No one in the USA seems to have Manuals. Dave Bean does not have manuals for the car perhaps another source in the USA? Perhaps the UK? As I understand Redline has taken over from Caterham for parts? They do not answer e-mail, need to phone. There is a, "Bruce Brammer" in Germany. Lists all the Lotus manuals. Are they reprints or real? Is there an internet site for the Seven? Or the Seven S4? Thanks for the help. Steve V. In Arizona

Hello
Wrong forum but there are a few of us on here with Sevens so I will try to answer...

Bruce Brammer sells reprints, however it may be the only way to get a manual in the short term. The reprints are ok and the manual only has line diagrams so it's probably OK. When originals come up on eBay they are anything from 60 to 300 UK ?

Redline are a little difficult to deal with , lots of people think they are great, I haven't had much luck with lots of ignored emails. I end up trying to buy elsewhere. You could also try xtraspecial sevens

The Lotus Seven owners club is the place to be with a forum Blatchat and many pages of information.

Hope this helps

Terry

Ps here is a picture of the manual you need.

Greetings, Steve
Back in the 70s I had a S4 Seven with a Holbay twin cam. I sold it when I returned
overseas in the mid-70s.

There's a nice guy in the area (i.e. Washington, D.C.) that has a nice one. He was
thinking about selling it the last time I saw him. I'll check - if you're interested.

I have 2 original, factory (not reprints), S4 manuals (as NOS - of course sitting around
for ~ 40 years). I would like to get a decent price to help offset the storage costs of a
bunch of Lotus stuff for over 4 decades.

Cheers, Bill

As above, Blatchat forum on the Lotus Seven Club website is the place to go. Need to be a paid up member to post there, but I'd be happy to place a forum request on your behalf, if you wish?

Oh my, sorry, Malcom

I just wasn't paying attention. I'll subsist, re: anything other than Elan.

We (i.e. Steve and me) do have +2s, but we weren't exchanging on them.

Manuals like the picture of one posted in this thread come up on eBay quite frequently, i used Lotus Manuals and literature as my search when I purchased a copy in last year or so.

i fully agree, A S our site is called lotuselan.net AND not 7, 22, 23, 25 .net - we therefore "tolerate" and consider or even love the following brothers: 26,36,45 and all of the + 2s -- OK we also love sevens! but they got their own forums: maybe even called lotusseven.com (7.com?? if trump has one!) sandy

Hi, I bought "Lotus Seven Restoration, Preparation, Maintenance" by Tony Weale, published by Osprey on Amazon Books early this year. It was a softcover and fell to bits in about 15 minutes, so they gave me my money back and didn't want the book returned. It is pretty comprehensive and includes a good section on the S4.
