Massachusetts: New inspection procedure

I got a heads-up from my friendly vehicle inspector that Massachusetts will introduce a new inspection procedure this October. From what he told me, the significant aspects for old car owners are these:
The VIN plate must be accessible and legible. (It will be photographed and the number must be legible in the photo.)
The car will be photographed, and the inspection procedure will be video recorded. (I assume this is to assure that the inspection is carried out as required.)
The car will be jacked. (It is already supposed to be jacked, but sometimes it isn't. That's no longer an option with the video recorder running.)
Vehicle owner may not be allowed to enter the inspection bay. (Again, this may already be a requirement, but will be enforced more stringently.)
I looked on the Web for an official description of the program, but didn't come up with anything that provides more information than this. The Elan is due in April; not looking forward to it.

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

That sucks, a recipe for broken fibreglass and bent wishbones.
