Hello,

I have a +2, but seriously have no time, anyone know a good mobile mechanic or trusted restoration service in Hertfordshire?

Many Thanks

Many years ago I used Chamber's and Gillies in Old Welwyn. They used to specialize in Lotus and other Exotic cars but it appears now they are a more general car care place. Suggest you give them a call and talk to the two owners. They used to be good back in the day.

There is Bob Ranscombe in Knebworth..He ran a Lotus garage in Stevenage in the 60s or 70s I believe.
I have no direct experience of his work, costs, etc.
When I saw his workshop there were two +2's undergoing work - I think one was his and the other a friend of his.

I was toying with the idea of moving my +2 to his garage, farming out some work to him while doing as much as I could (my garage is petite).. the issue was that I would want access to his garage in the evenings and weekends... he wasn't prepared to do that if he wasn't there... which I totally understand.

Another nearby Lotus expert is Malcolm Ricketts, who has a garage in the Ayots area.. however, I think his main business revolves around race preparation

During my own search for a Plus 2 I visited what looked like a very professional classic Lotus specialist in Letchworth. I think it is RNH Contracts. They do not have a website and I have no idea if they work for walk-in customers and most of the cars were racers, but may be worth calling them since they are so local.

You could try my engine man Bob Morely in Potters Bar, he trades as Protune Racing

Good for engines & suspension, but I've never had the need for him to do bodywork for me, so I don't know about that.

He shares a workshop with Rat Race Ltd.
