Dipstick Oil Leak Fixed

PostPost by: William2 » Sun Oct 15, 2017 3:14 pm

Having read several threads a while back about using a rubber spark plug lead grommet to cure minor leaks from the top of the dipstick tube, I fitted one from an old NGK spark plug cap. It works a treat and fits perfectly over the dipstick and the tube.

haha true! start fixing leaks at the front of the engine and keep working towards the back of the gearbox. then repeat the process.
or buy lots of oil and put a big catch-tray in the garage under the car

I?m currently in the latter camp. Have resolved the leak from the head to drain block, will now follow Williams lead on this one.

There is something rather satisfying about fixing an oil leak even if there are others to contend with!!
I get the impression that the most common one is the rear oil seal.
